Ventus Ha’: Junior Suite Platinum {Mexico}

Welcome to room #28314, the Ventus Ha’ Junior Suite Platinum! During our trip to the brand new Ventus Ha’ at Marina El Cid resort in November 2021, we stayed for one night in the Junior Suite Platinum room class due to a front desk mix-up.

Unfortunately, the room class we reserved online was not ready for guests (as the resort literally just opened the week prior!). The resort staff was gracious enough to put us in this suite for one night and then upgrade us to the One Bedroom Platinum with Bathtub for the remainder of our stay.

We were lucky enough to be assigned one of the end unit Platinum Junior Suites, which gave us an amazing view of the wetlands as well as the resort! Although we only stayed for one night in this particular room, we would definitely stay in it again – especially our end room!

Ventus Ha’ Junior Suite – Interior

The Junior Suites at Ventus Ha’ are the resort’s standard hotel room style. The standard junior suites are the most affordable options to book, while the Platinum version we stayed in is upgraded in view and amenities.

Walking into the room, there is a closet system to your left and the restroom area to the right. The closet has plenty of space and also contains the mini-fridge, coffee maker, safe, and an iron.

Ahead is the main suite. There is a large and extremely comfortable King bed with two nightstands and pendant lights. The king bed has under bed lighting on a motion sensor, which was a cool feature. One great feature is that there is a bluetooth speaker on the night stand so you can play music!

Next to the bed is a living room area with a couch and TV. The best part of the junior suite is that this couch is actually a Murphy bed that pulls down. This allows the suite to sleep four.

The restroom‘s vanity area is open concept and contains two double sinks. The included toiletries in the Platinum room are shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand sanitizer, and insect repellent lotion (awesome idea!)

The toilet and the shower are located together behind a closed door. The walk-in shower was huge and had an amazing rainfall shower head. I also loved the aesthetics of the dark green tile and the brass fixtures.

Ventus Ha’ Junior Suite – Balcony

The best part of the Junior Suite is the balcony!

The balcony is very good sized and contains two patio chairs and an end/side table. I do wish this was a patio dining table, however. There really isn’t anywhere good to eat in the room other than the coffee table in front of the couch.

There is also a super comfortable hammock on every balcony. Genius idea.

Ventus Ha’ Junior Suite – View

Ventus Ha’ is a small resort with only two buildings. These building are angled toward one another in a half-moon shape with the pool area in the middle. All of the rooms face the pool with the entrances on the outside. That means every single room has basically the same view.

With that being said, the location of the suite within the building does adjust the view slightly. If you are closer in towards the lobby area, your view is mostly going to be the pool area and looking across at the other building.

However, if you are near the end, you are going to get a much more expansive view and have great views of the wetlands and marshes.

Our room in particular was amazing because we were a corner room. While all of the other suites have a cement wall on each side, forcing the view straight forward, you can see our end room was much more panoramic.

It appeared to us that each building only had two of these standard suite end units, all on the 3rd floor. I am not entirely sure if all Platinum class Junior Suites have this view, or if we just lucked out.

Ventus Ha’ Platinum Club Vs. Standard

Ventus Ha’ offers both Junior Suite and Junior Suite Platinum rooms. Platinum rooms are upgraded room classes with extra perks and services.

Perks of the Platinum Club upgrade include:

  • Private check-in and out
  • Access to the Platinum Club lounges
  • Access to Platinum pools & beach area (At Ventus & El Cid)
  • Turn down service
  • Bathrobes and slippers

While there are more Platinum Club perks listed on Ventus and El Cid’s websites, however I don’t think they really apply to Ventus Ha’. The Platinum Club plays less of a role at Ventus Ha’ than at Ventus or El Cid, as there are no off-limit or exclusive areas at this small property.

With that being said, my assumption is that our particular corner unit room is designated Platinum Club. If having this feature is important to you, I highly recommend contacting the resort prior to booking. Otherwise, I don’t feel the Platinum Club is necessary to enjoy your stay here and you could easily save some cash by going standard.

What is the cost of the Junior Suite?

Although we did not specifically book the Junior Suite Platinum, I did pull up the rates to see what this room costs on average.

Right now (a couple weeks after our visit), the resort is still offering its grand opening 50% off sale. The regular rate for this Junior Suite Platinum is a whopping $767/night, or $383.50/person per night. With the sale, the room is offered at a more reasonable $346/night, or $173/person per night.
