Welcome to the Rayavadee Terrace Pavilion #3-28 in Thailand! We stayed at the stunning Rayavadee resort in Krabi, Thailand for two nights during our recent trip in April 2023 and stayed in this amazing pavilion suite.
The Terrace Pavilion is a freestanding, two-story pavilion style room with a large outdoor terrace seating area. It is an upgrade version of the entry-level Rayavadee Deluxe Pavilion due to the addition of the terrace.

Rayavadee Terrace Pavilion: Exterior
Rayavadee’s pavilions are set among a lush jungle landscape. The best part is they are completely freestanding from one another. There are no traditional hotel buildings here!
The pavilions are surrounded by trees and foliage, and you can often see (and hear) wild monkeys playing in the trees around your room and throughout the resort.
There is a small patio at the front of the pavilion with a bistro table and two chairs. You’ll also find a built-in cabinet that holds umbrellas, as well as foot wash station.
A jungle canopy grows over the patio on a trellis. While it provides shade and protection from the sun, note it is not covered in the event of rain.
Travel Tip: It is important to keep your doors closed at all times, otherwise the monkeys may come in uninvited and help themselves to your minibar or belongings! And while taking shoes off at the door is a Thai custom, the staff recommended we bring our shoes in to prevent monkey thefts of those as well.
Rayavadee Terrace Pavilion: First Floor
Each Rayavadee Terrace Pavilion is made up of two full stories of private living. The main floor of the Terrace Pavilion features a living room with minibar, large outdoor terrace space, and convenient half bathroom.
The living room area contains a large couch, side chair, television, coffee table, and minibar. There is also a side table between the entry and stairwell doors with two pairs of his and hers flip flops and a wicker picnic style basket for your use around the resort.
On the coffee table we found helpful brochures and informational print outs regarding our stay in addition to a complimentary bottle of champagne and bowl of fruit. The table also contains drawers with plates, cutlery, and napkins for two.
The minibar is located next to the television in the living room. There is a tray containing snacks and tea supplies, and it swivels out to reveal water, an ice bucket, glasses, and a selections of teas below. In a refrigerator located below, you will find a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
The minibar items come at a cost and are not complimentary. However, the glass bottled water, tea items, and jar of cookies are free. We felt that the majority of the minibar items were reasonably priced. However, we did find the champagne and wine to be extremely overpriced in our opinion.
Off the living room is the half bathroom. The half bathroom has your typical facilities along with the addition of a bidet. We liked that the suite had two bathrooms so we could have some bathroom privacy from one another.
Directly opposite the half bath is the stairwell to the second story. As the stairwell is open to the bedroom upstairs, there is a door located at the bottom of the staircase. We were able to shut and lock this door when we were upstairs, in case housekeeping came unexpectedly.
Rayavadee Terrace Pavilion: Bedroom
The bedroom is spacious with a large, comfortable king bed in the center. There are plenty of windows in this curved room and it overall has a distinct treehouse-like vibe.
There is only one nightstand, however, there is a large shelf-style headboard you can use to store items near you. The nightstand also houses more complimentary bottled water.
Set up at the window is a desk and chair. A really cool old-fashioned style bluetooth speaker is located on the desk. However, we had to unplug and hide it at night because the light it emitted was very bright.
There is also a vanity area at the top of the stairs located outside of the restroom. Note after a long search of the bedroom and bathroom, we located the hair dryer in the vanity’s lefthand drawer.
Instead of a closet there is a built-in wardrobe at the foot of the bed, which also houses another television. The wardrobe has both hanging space and shoe cubbies, plenty of hangers, slippers, robes, and a safe.
Rayavadee Terrace Pavilion: Restroom
A saloon-style wooden door separates the bathroom from the bedroom. You’ll find a massive counter with dual sinks, a glass shower, and a separate soaking tub. The toilet area is behind a separate door for privacy.
As a bath person, I was really excited to see the separate pedestal bath tub. I definitely took a couple of cool soaks after being in Thailand’s oppressive heat and humidity.
Rayavadee offers laundry service at an additional cost. Simply place your items in the hamper then complete the paperwork.
Rayavadee’s offerings of toiletries and bath amenities is impressive. There were ample towels of all sizes, glass water for drinking and brushing your teeth, and a magnified mirror.
We were also provided with full-size bottles of lotion, shampoo, and conditioner and a high-quality loofah. Additional small toiletries were available as well (toothbrush, tooth paste, shower cap, bar soap, etc). These were located in the rolled white clothes and were quite high quality.
Rayavadee Terrace Pavilion: Terrace
The Terrace Pavilion’s main feature is the covered outdoor terrace. This garden terrace is what sets the Terrace Pavilion apart from the entry-level Deluxe Pavilion.
This area is accessible directly from the outside paths. Or, you can open your living room doors to diectly walk out or create indoor-outdoor living. The patio contains a large outdoor couch, table, side chair, and side table, and this is in addition to the small bistro set you have by the front door.
And while you are in close proximity to the pedestrian paths, the thick foliage did offer a sense of privacy from those walking by.
Deluxe Pavilion vs. Terrace Pavilion
Which room is better – the Deluxe Pavilion or the Terrace Pavilion? The Deluxe Pavilion is the standard entry level room, while the Terrace Pavilion is the next step up. However, the floor plans are identical. Essentially, the large outdoor terrace is the only difference between the two rooms, other than price.
While we originally booked the entry-level Terrace Pavilion, we received a free upgrade to the Terrace Pavilion simply by booking direct and signing up for the hotel’s free rewards program, the Leaders Club.
If you are not receiving an upgrade and trying to weigh between the Deluxe and Terrace, consider how much time you will be spending outside at your room. Because we traveled at the hottest point of the year, it was so incredibly hot and humid that we did not even use the terrace space. Should we have traveled during rainy season, the covered terrace would have been great to have to get outside during rainy days.
Personally, we felt it was a nice free upgrade, but don’t think we would have paid the difference in price for the terrace without it. We spent most of our outdoors time at the resort’s three stunning beaches, at the pool, and at the restaurants rather than at our room.
How much does it cost?
What does it cost to stay at Rayavadee? Keep in mind that we booked, and paid for, the entry level Deluxe Pavilion at Rayavadee. However, we were upgraded to Terrace Pavilion at no additional charge for booking direct and signing up for the resort’s free rewards program.
We traveled during shoulder season in April 2023, at a nightly rate of $482.52/night for the accommodation before taxes and fees. This rate was for the room only and we did pay separately for food, drinks, and what we consumed for the minibar. Our grand total was $567.92/night or $1,135.84 total for two nights after taxes and fees. Note that the resort utilizes Thai Baht (THB) and conversion rates do vary.
While this is quite a bit higher than we normally spend on a resort, especially one that is not all-inclusive, this was a special splurge for us. And I do think the stunning landscape of Rayavadee was entirely worth it.
