Ventus at Marina El Cid: One Bedroom Suite Swim Up Platinum with Jacuzzi {Mexico}
Welcome to Ventus at Marina El Cid and the One Bedroom Suite Swim-Up Platinum with Jacuzzi!
Located in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, Ventus is an all-ages resort with the feel of an adults-only one. Guests of the resort also have full access to its attached sister resorts Hotel Marina El Cid and Ventus Ha’ at Marina El Cid.
I had the opportunity to stay in the One Bedroom Swim-Up suite in March 2018 when the resort newly opened. We also were able to return to the resort in November 2021 for the grand opening of Ventus Ha’.

Ventus at Marina El Cid: One Bedroom Swim Up: The Living Area
The One Bedroom Swim-Up Suite is a 1 bed / 2 bath plan with a Murphy pull-down bed in the living room. It is over 1114 sf of living space, and perfect if you are traveling with friends or children.
In the living room, you will find a couch, TV, and dining table that seats four. The couch pulls down into a full-size Murphy bed, allowing the suite to sleep four. I slept in this bed and found it very comfortable!
The restroom has an open concept vanity with double sinks. There is a walk-in shower and toilet in a separate water closet.
There is also a closet system across from the bathroom that houses the safe, mini-fridge, and coffee maker.
The wall straight ahead is a sliding glass window wall that leads out to the swim-up patio. This of course is the main attraction of the living area. Simply walk you our patio door and jump on in!
Ventus at Marina El Cid: One Bedroom Swim Up: The Bedroom Suite
The bedroom suite is separated from the living space of the suite with a door and a cut-out window in the wall adjacent to the bedroom. This cut-out window has shutters so you can close it for privacy.
The bedroom is huge and is essentially the same exact size as the rest of the suite. The suite features a large king bed, a desk, and a second TV.
The restroom has an open concept double vanity area. Like the second bathroom, the walk-in shower and toilet are in a separate room.
Of course the best feature of this suite is the large jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room! The one bedroom suites are also available without the jacuzzi. However, if you love baths and hot tubs, this upgrade is well worth it.
You can also access the patio from the bedroom was well.
Ventus at Marina El Cid: One Bedroom Swim Up: The Patio & Pool
The best part of this suite is definitely the swim-up pool! It’s so nice to have your own pool that you can swim right up to your patio from.
This suite is always located on the first floor because of the swim-up pool. Therefore, your outdoor area will be a ground floor patio rather than a balcony. The first floor suites are elevated up off the ground, so there are not any privacy concerns.
The patio runs the entire width of the suite and has entrances to both sides. There are two lounger chairs as well as a hammock on the patio.
Each suite will have a staircase entry into the pool. The pools are semi-private, as they run the length of the building and connect approximately six rooms. However, you are more than welcome to swim and enjoy the length of the pool.
Ventus at Marina El Cid: One Bedroom Swim Up – Location
The one bedroom swim-up suites are located in only two buildings: Building #25 and #26. Both buildings are located right next to the lobby for easy access to restaurants and the concierge.
Building #26, which we stayed in, does face directly across at another building. Therefore, your view from these rooms will be less private.
Building #25, however, faces the main pool. While that isn’t very private either, it’s a great location for people watching and to view the resort.
Unfortunately, none of the swim up rooms will be located facing the beach. If an ocean view is important, you may want to consider a different class at this resort.
Ventus at Marina El Cid: Swim Up Vs. Standard
You might be wondering if you should opt for the swim-up or go for the standard one bedroom instead.
The main difference of course will be your floor level and view. The swim-up pools will all be first floor, where as the one bedroom suites are located on higher floors. The higher floor may give you a better view with the increase in elevation. Additionally, there are not any swim-up suites in the buildings near the beach.
If the deciding factor is cost, the standard room is going to be more affordable than the swim-up.
If you’ve never stayed in a swim-up before, I would definitely recommend it! It’s so nice to have your own pool to jump into without having to pack up and head to the main pool.
Platinum Club at Ventus
The Platinum Club is Ventus’ upgraded room class, offering perks above and beyond the standard inclusions.
Perks of the Platinum Club include:
- Private check-in/checkout
- Late checkout subject to availability
- Reservation of beach palapa huts
- Top of the line beds and linens
- Pillow menu and turn down service
- Guaranteed ocean view accommodations
- Welcome fruit, wine, & petit fours
- Bathrobe, slippers, umbrella, and beach bag
- Access to the Platinum Club lounge
- Private Platinum Club pools and beach area
- Butler service
Something I am confused about is the Platinum Club lists guaranteed ocean views as a perk. However, our room class was Platinum and it is not possible for the swim-up rooms to have ocean views based on the location.
Additionally, the Platinum Club also lists butler service as a perk. We did not have any butler service offered during our stay.
Keep in mind our stay in the room happened a few years ago right after the grand opening. It’s very possible they’ve changed up some of their amenities since then.
Cost of the One Bedroom Swim-Up Suite
When we stayed at Ventus at Marina El Cid, the resort had just opened. So, we were able to take advantage of some amazing grand opening rates and sales that I haven’t seen advertised since.
I did go ahead and price out a three night stay at the beginning of March with current rates. I do feel the regular rates are extremely pricey compared to similar resorts.
Three nights at this timeframe came to a total of $2900 all-inclusive for three nights, which breaks down to $966/night for two people, or $483/night per person.
In my opinion, this is steep, as I typically target a rate of $400-$500/night for two people for this type of resort. However, this room is one of their best classes, so that accounts for the price. Also, it will be cheaper if you are sleeping 3-4 adults in this room.
Note: If you are traveling with children 12 and under, sometimes Ventus offers promotions right on the booking page where they stay free.
So what do you think? Is this room too pricey or worth the cost? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!
