Welcome to Stella in Paradise, where we’re exploring as many tropical destinations as our very limited PTO allows.

Our mission is to help you find the best tropical destinations and resorts for your next vacation. Have a destination in mind, but lost as to which resort to book? We focus on midrange and affordable luxury accommodations perfect for a weekend away or a romantic retreat.

And as we’ve learned firsthand, it is possible to visit the most amazing, exotic destinations for a reasonable price while busy with life and work.

FAQ

We’re not influencers and we’re not social media personalities. We’re simply an average middle-aged couple that loves to travel to tropical destinations and share our adventures. You can find us mainly on YouTube and this blog, though we hope to have more time to expand our social media accounts in the future. We also have started a second blog and channel Stella in the Wild for our non-tropical adventures, but that is still under heavy construction.

Prior to getting into the travel niche, I had experience creating content in the education field, and David has always had an interest in photography. After going on our first vacation together as a couple to the Dominican Republic in 2021, I decided that we were going to put these skills together and pursue travel blogging and vlogging. We’ve been traveling and creating content ever since!

We use a ton of different photography and videography gear, but all you really need to create travel content is a high quality smart phone, a microphone, and a gimbal stabilizer. Check out What’s in Our Camera Bag for more.

We’ve been to eighteen countries and hands down our favorite place in the ENTIRE world is the Cook Islands! The islands of Rarotonga and Aitutaki are the most beautiful destinations we’ve ever visited and they hold a special place in our hearts. We also loved Zanzibar as an exotic destination and regularly visit Mexico due to its convenience from the US.

In 2025, we went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Maldives, stayed at two Secrets Resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and also went to a brand new resort opening in Cancun, Mexico. In 2026, we will be going on an island hopping vacation to St. Martin/Sint Maartin, St. Barth, and Anguilla. We will also be traveling to Chattanooga, TN and a stargazing resort in Colorado for our Stella in the Wild channel/blog.
